四川德阳经济技术开发区成立于1992年8月,离成都50公里，位于德阳市区的东南部,呈带状分布,东靠浅丘山林,西依绵远河下旌湖,与市区紧密相连。开发区规划面积17.6平方公里,按照 “一区多园”的模式规划建设了装备制造工业园、服装及轻工业园、新材料科技园及八角工业园，已形成装备制造、新材料、服装等产业集群，是中国西部重要的制造业基地。

     开发区管委会作为市委、市政府的派出机构，负责规划区范围内的经济发展、社会事物和基本建设。

     经过10多年的建设，开发区已经初具规模，建成面积达10平方公里。特别是进入新世纪以来，开发区管委会明确了 “诚信招商、服务留商、工业立区、三产助区”的指导思想，狠抓招商引资工作，坚定不移的发展经济,取得了丰硕的成果。区内共有工业企业200多家, “十五”期间,开发区的各项经济指标每年均按35%以上的增幅增长,使开发区迅速成为四川省新型工业化的示范区，高新技术成果的产业化基地和中国西部最具投资价值的开发区之一，2006年度开发区被评为全省仅有的5个优秀工业园区之一,受到中共四川省委省人民政府的隆重表彰。

      Deyang Economic & Technological Development Area is founded in August 1992 and is only 50 kilometers away from Chengdu-the capital city of Sichuan Province. It is located in the middle of Chengdu-Deyang-Mianyang Hi-tech Industry Line, the southeast to the city proper of Deyang and is laid out in a strip in a planned area of 17.6 square kilometers. Practicing the mode of several parks in one area, currently in the area there are cluster of Manufacturers for Technical Equipment, cluster of Manufacturers for Garments and Light Industry, industrial park for Hi-tech Materials and Bajiao Industrial Park. The development area has become an important base for technical equipment as well as one of the most vigorous areas in economic development in West China.

     As an administrative organ of the municipal authorities, the Management Committee of the Development Area is responsible for the economic development, social affairs, and capital construction within the Development Area.

     As a result of the development in the past decade or so, the Development Area is taking on a bigger scale, with construction over 10 square kilometers completed. Particularly with the advent of the new century, the management committee of the Development Area put forward a guiding principle, i.e. introducing investment with honesty and credibility, keeping businesses with best services, prospering the Development Area with industry, and supporting the Development Area with the tertiary industry. So, great efforts have been devoted to introducing investment and capital and to economic development. Thus fruitful achievements have been accomplished. So far over 200 industrial enterprises have been registered. In the 10th five-year-plan period, the Development Area made growth over 35% in terms of various economic indexes, which swiftly making the Development Area a provincial demonstration model for novel industrialization, a manufacturing base for industrialization of hi-tech achievements, and one of the Development Area in west China that holds the greatest potential for investors. The Development Area was appraised as one of the 5 outstanding development areas in the province, and was commended by the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and the Sichuan Provincial People’s Government.
